As you canvas for prices, brands and models, you can’t go wrong with getting one of the Krups coffee makers. Krups is a German manufacturer for kitchen appliances which has been a world leader in the manufacturing of coffee and espresso machines, as well as a combination 2-in-1 coffee-espresso machine. Aside from Krups coffee makers, the Krups company also has produced a variety of appliances for household use such as blenders ,coffee grinders, meat slicers and food processors. Krups coffee makers are one of the most durable brands of coffee makers you can find in the market. Unlike other coffee maker brands, the Krups carafe lids don’t need to be bleached, since many of its models have stainless steel carafes.

One model I like is the silver grey Krups KM1000 Stainless Steel ten-cup coffee maker which you can find for as low as $49.97 online. Its features include a pause and serve function and a timer. This model has a sophisticated rich design in full stainless steel with simple clean lines and accents made of graphite. It is easy to operate and highly programmable which features a blue LCD analog clock which you can set with simple push button controls. The KM100 Krups coffee maker brews up to ten coffee cups into a sturdy carafe made of glass for accessible and easy serving.

One of the newer models of Krups coffee makers is the Krups XP2070 Espresso Machine and Coffee Maker combination. This ten-cup 1,200 watt black-grey beauty is a programmable combination machine. It not only has an espresso maker but is also a drip coffee maker. The espresso maker has a fifteen bar pup with a thermo block heating element which makes sure the water temperature is the same every time you brew a cup or two. The thirty-two ounce removable water tank is big enough to make twenty five espresso shots. The heavyweight die-cast filter holder has three interchangeable sieves for one or two servings or ground espresso as well as for filter pods. The best features is the gorgeous brushed stainless-steel finishing which upgrades any kitchen décor.
Another great model is the Krups Allegro FND112 Espresso Machine which you can find for as low as $39.99 in the market today. It is a four-cup beautifully crafted electric espresso machine which has a maximum pump pressure of four bars. It is easy to operate and takes up minimal counter space. It has a carafe which has a large capacity which has both a handle and a lid and is ideal for use in the preparation of today’s popular drinks which use espresso coffee. The steam nozzle froths milk quickly and is controlled quite easilty with an oversized dial on the side. For easy clean-up the drip tray is removable. This model also has a built-in safety valve for safe operating.

Another good investment is the $149.99 Krups KM7000 ten-cup coffee maker. Complete with a timer, a pause and server function, automatic shut off, a cup warming surface and a built-in grinder, you can’t ask for anything more in a coffee maker. Owning one of these gets you a perfect cup of coffee every time. The grind, the coffee and the water ratio as well as the temperature used to brew make you an exquisite cup in minutes.

A drip coffee maker will need a Cuisinart coffee filter. Although there are many varieties of coffee filters available commercially or online these days, Cuisinart coffee filters will give you what other filters cannot. Paper filters are standard but are not as good for the environment as mesh permanent filters. After a while, you get really tired of coffee which has a paper filter taste. There is no point in choosing the best grinds only to sip the full flavor of paper filters.

Paper coffee filters absorb coffee beans’ natural oils causing you to lose a lot of flavor. What Cuisinart filters do is it lets all the coffee grinds’ oil to pass through without absorbing any of it. This gives you a great cup of coffee, aromatic and full of flavor.

This is where Cuisinart coffee filters come in. Durable and reusable, Cuisinart has created coffee filters in all shapes and sizes which replace all your paper filters.

There are also cloth coffee filters available in the market today made with unbleached cotton. The main disadvantage is that you need to wash these types of filter and hang them up or put them in the dryer to dry. This takes a lot of time and effort. With the Cuisinart filters, you save time and money plus you get much better coffee results.
Start using Cuisinart coffee filters and it will taste like you bought an entirely new brand of coffee. Enjoy the full flavor, aroma and smell of unadulterated coffee grounds without needing to change brands or purchasing a different, darker roast.

Cuisinart coffee filters will also never tear or rupture unlike coffee or cloth filters. A mesh filter that has a mesh size that is too big will cause many small filter grains to pass through into the carafe. Coffee filters made by Cuisinart are small enough to hold all the coffee grains yet large enough to put the water through, into your waiting cup.

Not only will these new filters change your coffee-drinking experience, you will no longer need to worry about using that last filter and needing to run to the store, and no more messy clean-ups. Permanent filters are dishwasher safe as well. This is going to cause you to spend less, no need for adding paper coffee filters to your shopping list, and no need to use up any extra gas buying yet another pack of coffee filters.

Other Cuisinart coffee filters include the Cuisineart Gold-Tone flat cone-shaped filter for Grind and Brew coffeemakers and Cuisinart Brew Central coffeemakers. Compatible with the Cuisinart models DCB-500 and DCB-600 are the round flat Cuisinart Gold-tone basket-type filters. Check your particular coffee maker model for whether it is a basket type or a cone-type.

One of the most popular of all of Krups coffee filters are the Krups 049 gold tone filter which fits models 176, 180, 197, 199, 229, 392, 394, 253, 536 and 538.

In purchasing a coffee filter, make sure you get the right model and size you need for your particular coffee maker.

Commercial coffee brewers come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Many come in state of the art vacuum sealed servers. Make sure the brand you choose has an easy to read display and a simple interface to make operating the machine extremely easy. Self-diagnostics are a great feature, and sense the proper brewing operations. When technical assistance is required, the phone number to call automatically gets displayed in the coffee brewer LCD display. Brewing functions ought to be displayed in real time. Pre programmed recipes give you a consistent cup of brewed coffee each time. User friendly machines have a scroll through menu that makes the process of brewing easily fine tuned.

When shopping for commercial coffee brewers, it is possible to acquire on online or in a store which sells commercial equipment for coffee shops or home businesses. The advantage of an online purchase is that you don’t need to waste a lot of gas finding a store that specializes in many brands to choose from. The advantage of going to an actual store, however, is that you can see for yourself the actual size, height and width of the machine you plan to get and if it is the approximate size you need for your coffee shop counter space. The other advantage of an actual purchase from a store is that you can ask an expert all the questions you need, and get a hands-on demonstration of the exact proper operating procedure of your potential machine.

A good idea might be to scout around on the internet for a bit, seeing all the different new styles, colors and specifications of all the different brands of commercial coffee brewers, and from the website, find out which store nearest your area has it. This way you don’t need to go very far to get exactly what you want.

Before you make a purchase, make sure of what you want. Decide beforehand if you have a particular color in mind. Size is important, as you don’t want a commercial coffee brewer bigger than your counter space specifications. You also might want to zero in on how much potential sales of cups per day you plan to sell, since your machine has to match the coffee demand you foresee. Many commercial coffee brewers are available right now that don’t really cost and arm and a leg.

However, if you have a particular brand in mind, or don’t want to take a risk of going with an unknown new brand, it is best to invest on a heavy duty branded machine you are confident in. Furthermore, if it is a franchise you are buying, the franchise owner may already have a coffee brewer for commercial purposes that comes with the franchise price. If you are starting a coffee shop on your own, however, look around at all the other coffee shops and check out the competition’s coffee brewers. This will help you zero in on exactly what you want for your own shop.

What exactly are drip coffee makers, anyway?

Types of coffeemakers available for use in the home include a French press, a percolator or an automatic drip coffeemaker. For the French press, ground coffee beans are measured and placed in a special pot before scalding hot water is poured over grounds of coffee. After between four to eight minutes, a plunger made with a steel mesh is pushed down upon the coffee to filter out the beans from the water. This gives good flavor but lacks all the advantages you get from a drip coffee maker.

Percolators, on the other hand are heated to a boil, causing water to rise through an aluminum tube and fall on a basket where the grounds of coffee are. However, the disadvantage of percolators is that the water temperature is so high that it damages the real flavor of the coffee beans that have been ground. Drip coffee makers are the most common type of coffee makers used by most households in the United States of America.

A drip coffee maker is also called a dripolator. It works by taking in water from another container in through a hose at the base of the water container which leads directly to an aluminum heating chamber where a heater which is around the metal tube heats water. Heat induced pressure uses the siphoning effect to move the heated water through an insulated vinyl hose into a spray head and finally to the coffee grounds contained in a brew basket under the spray head. The coffee passes through a filter and drips down into the little carafe coffee pitcher. For a standard ten or twelve cup drip coffee maker, a heater with a larger wattage can heat a large amount of water quickly which produces more coffee at a shorter amount of time.

Features of most common drip coffee makers include its size, the filters it uses, the timer, automatic shut off features and pause and serve features among others. Size is important to consider because if you choose a size that is too large, it results in a lot of wasted coffee. An ideal choice for someone living by himself is a single-serve drip coffee maker. This brews coffee n about three minutes and it usually brews coffee right into your waiting mug, resulting in a freshly brewed cup of piping hot coffee.

An eight cup size is the size that most households in the United States get, as it is perfect for an average family’s coffee needs. Ten and twelve cup sizes are most ideal for offices, parties or big families who need more coffee than what the eight cup can produce.

Some drip coffee makers come with permanent rather than paper filters which is a really environmentally conscious decision. Also, paper filters have a tendency to cause the taste of coffee to lighten. New styles of filters for automatic drip coffee makers are called coffee pods. Pods are circular paper filters with coffee already pre measured inside it. This eliminates the need to pre-measure and saves time.

When making a decision to purchase a small coffee maker, you need to take into consideration that less size means less performance or less durability. Small coffee makers have all the features of a large coffee makers but work best for small counter spaces in small kitchens. If you live alone, this works best as well. This also works well if you want a spare coffee maker in your guest house, home office or corporate office.

An under-cabinet type of small coffee maker is great for someone who lives in a studio type apartment and has little or no counter space. These types of coffee makers are made to be placed under a cabinet and are ideal for a recreational vehicle, a camper, an apartment or in your home. These types come in a variety of models and colors and you can choose a great color scheme to match your cabinets.

A small coffee saver also comes in a type known as the space saver. It is similar to the average counter top type but is made to accommodate space challenges. These come in a variety of cup size, from a one-cup to a twelve-cup capacity but takes up less square inches on a counter, but come with much less bulk than the regular small coffee makers.

A small coffee maker that is personal comes in just the one-cup size. It comes with its own thermal mug which is spill-proof and therefore, transportable. This is great for a brew-and-go lifestyle where you need to bring your coffee with you as you drive to work.

Coffee makers that are not very big also come with either their own permanent filter baskets or you might need to buy your own paper filters. Some coffee makers that are in a handy size have a built-in timer which sets up the coffee maker up to twenty-four hours ahead of time. This is great for those who love to wake up to the smell of fresh coffee brewing. The only down side is that you do expose the coffee grinds to up to twenty-four hours of air, which does affect coffee flavor to a certain extent. This is where coffee pods come in. Coffee pods are great for large of small coffee makers with timers since the grinds are trapped inside an enclosed or sealed paper filter, making it less exposed to air, thus retaining better flavor.

Some small coffee makers come with a pause and serve feature. The pause and serve feature lets you pull out the carafe of coffee even as the brewing is going on, to serve some of the coffee that has already been brewed, and resumes brewing once you return the carafe of coffee into its compartment.

Another feature you should look out for in your purchase of a small coffee maker is the automatic shut off. An automatic shut-off feature shuts off your small coffee maker automatically a couple of hours after the coffee has completed its brew. These are great for busy schedules which cause you to forget to shut anything off, much less your coffee maker.

A white coffee maker is more advisable for people and institutions especially concerned with hygiene. This means hospital coffee shops, health care facilities, homes where a mother has just given birth and nurse’s stations. This is because unlike black or any other color, any kind of smudge or dirt will really show up on a white coffee maker. These take longer to clean precisely because everything is visible. Coffee drips, coffee rings, black grit from the coffee grounds, water marks, all will be very visible a mile away on a white coffee machine.

Aside from the hygiene issue, a coffee maker which is white looks very stylish. This is a great wedding gift for a couple along with other all-white appliances. Your kitchen is going to look very sleek and well-planned out when all your appliances match in terms of color, even if the brands don’t.

If you are in the market for a white coffee maker, you may be pleasantly surprised to find out that these come in the same variety of shapes, designs and features as any other color. Popular white coffee machines includes Toastmaster’s Coffee Maker and Tea Kettle, Black and Decker’s Spacemaker twelve-cup drip, Salton’s Three For All Coffee Maker, Cuisinart’s DTC-800 Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker, Hamilton Beach’s Aroma Express Coffee Maker, Melitta’s Fast Brew Coffee Maker, Salton’s Split Decision Coffee Maker, Cuisinart’s DCC 100 CoffeeBar Classic Coffee Maker and Cuisinart’s DCC-270 CoffeeBar Flavor System Coffee Maker.

A white coffee maker that has built in grinders, cappuccino and espresso makers, dual coffee makers, one cup coffee makers, traveling coffee makers, plastic or stainless steel carafes, glass carafes and under cabinet space savers are all available in the market today. Try and find a coffee maker not just in the color you want, but with the features you prefer. A programmable, pause and serve, timer, self cleaner, built in espresso and cappuccino maker and your preferred wattage is available from a variety of manufacturers today.

You can shop for a white coffee maker either online or in an appliance store near you. My suggestion is that you canvas for designs and prices online before making a final purchase. Read all the reviews of the brand or manufacturer you plan to buy from, and decide which the right coffee maker is for you. Online stores which include international listings will be able to give you choices from around the world, with affordable shipping prices. The disadvantage in buying online is that you don’t really get to touch the product and need to rely on what others’ say about the particular model you are interested in. When shopping in an actual store, you are able to see the exact counter space your potential coffee maker will use up. The choices in actual stores, however, are not as unlimited as the international market the internet gives you. Many online auctions also feature brands you may never have heard of as well as novelty or old fashioned styles of coffee makers.

Today’s increasing condominium-type living has created a need for the most compact and space saving appliances there is. This includes space saving microwaves, ovens, hanging oven toasters, hanging can openers, vertical shelving and an under cabinet coffee maker system. Many great brands such as Black and Decker are meeting this need by creating such products as the Black and Decker Space Maker ODC425, which allows you to make coffee normally without taking any kitchen counter space. With prices in the same range as normal coffee makers, an under cabinet coffee maker is a good investment.

These coffee makers are also great for college dorm rooms, studio-type apartments, one bedroom apartments, small youth hostels that have kitchenettes, or a regular kitchen in a suburban house in which you don’t want to alter the existing counter arrangement.

Aside from the regular coffee maker features, the under cabinet coffee maker has a ‘tap a cup’ feature which lets you tap into the supply of coffee without having to touch the coffee carafe. Another feature is the ‘sneak a cup’ in which the machine lets you get some coffee even as it brews.

Under cabinet coffee maker varieties come in many colors. One of the main differences between this type of coffee maker and a regular coffee maker is that you will need to mount this, and I don’t recommend mounting it yourself. Some stores provide a schedule when a handyman can come and mount your new coffee maker for you. Online stores, however, do not. Attempting to mount this yourself does have its risks, but if you feel confident in your own abilities, then by all means, give it a try.

The first thing to do in attempting to mount this is t determine if you have a cabinet that has a flat or an extended bottom. Tape the template which comes with the box where you plan to mount this coffee maker. Make pencil holes and remove the mounting template. Drill the holes, making sure you are wearing eye protection. Punch through the mounting bracket’s holes. You then need to align the drill holes with the mounting bracket, with the washers between the mounting bracket and the cabinet bottom. Adjust where you plan to put it if the cabinet has an overhang. Place bolts into cabinet and insert the screws in the mounting brackets. The coffee maker can then slide into the bracket and should successfully lock into space.

Also a great design feature, an under cabinet coffee maker makes every kitchen look very sleek especially if you attach the coffee maker in such a way that the digital clock is at eye level for all to see. This looks really great and saves you a lot of space, while upgrading how your kitchen looks. Unlike regular coffee makers, the under counter coffee makers’ water reservoir is in front and removable along with the coffee pot. This makes cleaning so much easier while at the same time giving you great visibility on how much water and coffee there is at any given moment. The transparency of it all causes a lot more hygienic cleanliness than getting a black opaque stainless steel carafe where germs can hide quite effortlessly.

Coffee lovers never need more coffee as when they travel. With the differences in time zones around the world, few people have the time or the inclination to search an unknown neighborhood for a cup of brew in the exact brand and style they are used to. This is where travel coffee makers come in. Rather than waiting for and guessing what kind of coffee the hotel you are staying in has in store for you, why not remove all the guess work and take matters, literally, into your own hands with a coffee maker made for travellers.

When packing for an airplane trip, make sure you take all the essentials. This includes, along with the main coffee maker, the travel coffee makers’ coffee filter system, a small unopened pack of coffee grounds and your own bottle of mineral water. Some airport customs officials don’t let opened packs of products through in certain airports. Also, if you are traveling to a foreign country, it is best to take your own mineral water, as even hotel tap water may not be potable, causing you to have to buy some water in unfamiliar settings.

The time differences in the countries you decide to travel to will make you grateful for traveling coffee makers. Imagine having to be up and working at what would normally be your bedtime. Remember that since travel coffee makers are designed to be portable, you may accidentally purchase the kind which plugs into your car cigarette lighter’s twelve volts. Also, inquire online or at your travel agency what shape and voltage your plug needs to be in the country you are planning to go to. It makes no sense to meticulously prepare your coffee accessories only to find out you have the wrong kind of plug.

Find coffee makers made for traveling online and search for great features. The pause and serve allows you to pour yourself a cup even as the machine brews. Travel coffee makers come in two, four, six, eight, ten or twelve cups to choose from. Some great coffee makers for traveling are the MarinePro, the Black and Decker DCM21C, the RoadPro, the Lentek Koolatron PC10, Home Pride, Rival, La Pavoni Velox, Zelco Brisk Brew 15001 and the Black and Decker RPCM-1012.

Travel coffee makers designed for road trip are fitted with a twelve-volt plug made to fit into your car cigarette lighter. Rather than a carafe, car coffee makers usually come with mugs that should fit right into your car cup holder, and are spill proof. Remember to stabilize your coffee maker when you decide to brew yourself a cup. Do not brew coffee while driving. Pull over at the nearest rest stop or gas station and position the coffee maker on the floor of the passenger side of the car.

Tempting as it may be, don’t prop your coffee maker on the passenger seat as this can cause first degree burns if it spills. Sealable vacuum bags that fit into your glove compartment easily will be a good storage place for your favorite ground coffee beans. Try and find a small scoop to put in with the grounds so you don’t hunt around for a spoon at the last minute.

These types of appliances made for traveling are designed for your convenience and not the other way around. Life is supposed to be easier, not harder, so get the most handy machine on the market that does the job of making a good cup of coffee for you, with the least amount of cleaning required.

If you are used to a particular quality of coffee, you will benefit greatly from having a travel coffee maker. Not only do these come in a convenient travel-size, they give you a cup of freshly brewed coffee just the way you like it, no matter where you are. Make sure you take a little bit of your own coffee grounds in case you end up in an unfamiliar street in your travels, and don’t have access to buying coffee grounds. This will mean having to resort to tolerating whatever your hotel has brewing for you. Not only will a travel coffee machines save you time and money, having a cup of fresh brew just the way you want it will make you feel more comfortable in strange surroundings.

When purchasing a coffee maker for traveling, make sure you look before you buy. That is, scout around for all the types and kinds of models there are available before making a final selection. If you are going on a road trip, you will be glad to know that there are types of travel coffee makers that plug into your car’s twelve volts, letting you brew a cup of coffee on the road wherever you may be.

With more and more affordable traveling opportunities becoming available, a coffee maker specifically made for travelers is a wise buy, saving you a lot of hassle and time spent for searching for a drinkable cup of coffee in unfamiliar surroundings. Travel coffee machines let you have coffee right when you most need it.

Among the various types of travel coffee machines you will come across, try and find a travel coffee maker which is easy to assemble. The whole point of a bringing a coffee maker along for traveling is for you to experience less, not more, hassle. Frequent flyers to Europe will need to get a traveling coffee maker with a dual voltage system. You will need to be able to plug into both American and European outlets. For cross country road trips, make sure the traveling coffee maker provides a mug which fits into standard size car cup holders, as this will make a huge difference in your travel convenience.

Try and find the disposable filters you need way ahead of time, unless you are a firm believer in permanent filters. Personally, for my travels, I don’t like clogging up the hotel sink with bits and pieces of coffee grounds and opt for the paper filters which is disposable into garbage bins. Find a travel coffee maker with a short brewing time. The low wattage these coffee makers have sometimes causes the coffee to brew very slowly, which is the last thing you need when you need to catch a plane in half an hour.

The travel coffee maker that comes with the retractable cord is my personal favorite. This makes such a difference in packing and not needing to worry that my coffee maker cord has gotten tangled with my cell phone charger. However, if you have a coffee maker for traveling and it doesn’t have a retractable cord which recoils smoothly into the base of the machine, just find one of those see-through organizer bags and arrange the machine neatly into one of those for neat and efficient packing.

Stainless steel coffee makers have a lot of advantages over glass and plastic coffee makers. For one, stainless steel machines are usually the thermal type, double walled carafe styles of coffee maker. These are great because, since they retain heat longer, they keep coffee tasting fresh longer than a glass carafe would. Another advantage is that these are virtually unbreakable, saving you money in the long run.

Unlike glass carafes which you need to handle with care, stainless steel carafes can be handled not-so-gently and yet never need to be replaced due to breakage. The only disadvantage I find in having a stainless steel carafe is that you can’t really see what level your brewed coffee is in from across the room, and continually need to guess. This is a minor disadvantage, however, and I do find that the advantages outweigh this disadvantage.

The series of KitchenAid Stainless Steel Coffee Makers features a fourteen cup Java Studio which has a full-dispersion JavaSpa showerhead. Fast 1100 watt brewing, brushed stainless steel exterior, a brew timer and clock, informative ‘time since brew’ display, pause and serve, end of brew audible tone, electronic brew system control, automatic shut-off, a clean touch control pad, a light telling you when it is time to clean, charcoal water filter, a gold-tone permanent filter and a one-year hassle-free replacement warranty.

One of the great stainless steel coffee makers in the market is the Braun KF600 which comes with double walls, keeping your coffee hot for hours. The Brita filter it comes with guarantees a great coffee taste without the impurities unfiltered water brings to it. Other features include a gold mesh filter, drip stop, automatic shut off and pause and serve.

The Cuisinart DGB-600 BCW Grind and Brew is a thermal ten cup coffee maker which features double wall insulation, cord storage and automatic shut off. This particular model has its own coffee bean grinder so you can brew your coffee from scratch without much of the hassle. This lets you enjoy the full flavor of freshly ground coffee beans right into your waiting cup.The Zojirushi EC-BD15 Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe Coffee Maker has a stylish appearance as well as a clock timer. The Brew and serve lid design, automatic shut-off and the ten-cup capacity lets you entertain in style.

The Krups Thermal FMF5-11 stainless steel coffee makers has 1100 watts of power for speedy brewing. It also has a pause and serve feature, automatic shut off, and a double walled carafe to keep your coffee extra hot. The Capresso MT500/440 Coffee Maker is an elegant ten-cup thermal vacuum coffee maker which keeps your coffee hot hour after hour. The twenty-four hour programmable timer and clock, along with the charcoal water filter, cord storage, no drip pouring, safety shut off, drip-stop pause feature and the gold mesh filter has all the features you would expect for the price range it is in.

When you don’t need a very large thermal coffee maker, the Mr. Coffee company has manufactured eight cup insulated stainless steel coffee makers in a double-wall carafe, pause and serve, automatic shut off and dual water windows as well as cord storage to keep your kitchen counters extra neat.
